Selection Process

In addition to your scholarship application, the Lillis Committee will review your admission application materials.

This scholarship application and your complete admission application are due by Dec 1. Finalists will be selected by a faculty committee and invited to interview virtually in February. Recipients will be selected by the committee and notified of their selection on or about April 1.

Lillis Essay

A primary objective of the Lillis Scholarship is to encourage intellectual independence. To illustrate your own intellectual independence and ability to integrate it into your life, please provide the selection committee with an original 500-word essay in which you respond to the following prompt:

Describe an intellectual idea that has transformed your thinking.

Microsoft Word or PDF format is required for upload.

In addition to this application, you must submit your Common Application and all other required materials on the application checklist to be considered for the Lillis Scholarship by Dec. 1. You can submit this application before you submit your Common Application.

Common Application ID

I understand that I may choose (via Common Application) to be considered under Puget Sound's test-optional policy for the purposes of admission, but I must submit official test scores (ACT or SAT) to be considered for the Lillis Scholarship.
