Application and Audition Information

    For major, minor, or scholarship consideration, an entrance audition is required in addition to your application to Puget Sound. Learn about audition requirements, dates, and procedures below.

    How to Apply

    1. Apply for admission to the University.
    2. Review the Entrance Audition Requirements.
    3. Register for an audition.

    PLEASE NOTE: Students must submit their Music Audition Application and audition in the same round (Early Decision, Early Action, or Regular Decision) as their application to the University.

    Students participating in Direct Admission should register for the nearest audition date

    Audition Dates for Fall 2027

    Saturday, November 14, 2026: Early Decision & Early Action Applicants

    • Registration deadline: Wednesday, November 2, 2026 

    Saturday, February 6, 2027: Regular Decision Applicants

    • Registration deadline: Monday, January 25, 2027

    Recorded Auditions

    • We strongly encourage live auditions. However, video submissions are accepted from students who live more than three hours from campus or from one of our regional audition sites.

    Video Submission Deadlines:

    • Early Decision & Early Action:  Submit by November 14, 2026
    • Regular Decision: Submit by February 6, 2027

    Regional Auditions

    • We will hold auditions in San Francisco and Denver in January 2027. 
    • Students who submit Early Decision / Early Action recorded auditions are also encouraged to connect with us at these events.

    Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) - Music Endorsement

    • MAT applicants should audition on the date that corresponds with their application round (Early/Regular).

    Transfer Student Auditions

    • Spring 2027 entry: Audition in November 2026
    • Fall 2027 entry: Audition in February 2027, or submit a recorded audition before the July 15 transfer deadline.
